    Graduate 3D Lighting Gallery 2017

This year, the 3D Lighting final project yielded such great results! The instructions were simple, to create an image of “Home” whilst taking visual inspiration from any one of the following artists: Edward Hopper, Paul Cezanne, Wayne Theibaud or Pablo Picasso.
So proud of the great work produced by Manuel Moreno-Lee, Veenal D’Silva, Pengxu Chen and Kaiyuan Deng

    2017 Spring 3D Lighting – Full Class

The 3D Lighting and Rendering class has an undergraduate equivalent alongside the graduate section.
I find that it adds a richness to the classroom environment for students to interact across project requirements and grade level. This is a complete gallery of the MFA and BFA students who took this class in Spring.

    Well done All!

  • Lighting – Y Satanina (mov)

I see my lighting and rendering class as a way for students to explore both the technical and aesthetic aspects of working with 3D lighting software.

Projects are designed to help them overcome challenges inherent in creating specific “looks” to allow them to make creative choices and explore their own aesthetic styles.

In this project students were asked to choose their favorite art movement and try to mimic it. Eg: Fauvism

  • Student Work: 3D Lighting – T Mazzaglia (mov)

I see my lighting and rendering class as a way for students to explore both the technical and aesthetic aspects of working with 3D software.

Projects are designed to help them overcome challenges inherent in creating specific “looks” to allow them to make creative choices and explore their own aesthetic styles.

In this project students were asked to introduce caustic light effects into their existing environments, thereby creating a more dramatic scene.
